Hebron Ancients

Hebron Ancients
by Amy Patrick Mossman

    olive trees on terraced hills—

    burned down to ash

who remembers?

    pillars of peace providing

    food shelter fuel

who remembers?

    people of the olive now

    lost hungry cold

who remembers?

    saplings in plastic sleeves

    dotting the land

to remind us.
