An Introduction to the Mandala

  • Still Harbor 666 Dorchester Ave Boston, MA, 02127 United States (map)

The mandala is an ancient journey to creativity and awakening, which has the potential to draw us closer to ourselves and thereby, through this deepened clarity, closer to the sacred and to those around us.

Participants will study the history of the mandala and its use as a contemplative practice, create original mandalas, and learn some basic skills to interpret the subconscious messages the mandala can reveal. Each participant will create many faster healing/discovery mandalas and begin one personal meditative mandala, which can be created through several sessions or privately at home.

Through the exploration of the teachings of modern Western leaders in the exploration of the use of the mandala, such as C.G. Jung, Joan Kellogg, Susanne Fincher, and Fr. William Jarema, participants will deepen their understanding as to why today many therapists and spiritual directors use the mandala as a means to help others know and heal themselves.

There will be several classes listed through out the 2014-15 season; special rates will be provided for those attending more than one class.

$30 per class (includes art supplies)
Ten-student maximum
