Romeo and Juliet at Still Harbor

Romance, intrigue, and tragic drama—all in our own backyard.

Come join us over Labor Day weekend for a free performance of Romeo and Juliet, presented by Brown Box Theatre. We're proud to collaborate with Brown Box on their 2012 Free Shakespeare on the Beach tour.

The goal of the tour is to offer free outdoor productions of Shakespeare’s plays to communities that may not have access to the arts and to introduce these iconic plays to the non-theatre audience as they are meant to be seen—as live theatre. This is the tour's first year in the Boston area, and we’re excited to partner with Brown Box in bringing this event to Andrew Square and the surrounding communities.

Performances will be at 6:30 pm on the evenings of Friday August 31, Saturday September 1, and Sunday September 2 in the Still Harbor back lawn. All performances are free to the public. The show will run about two hours with no intermission. Families with older children are encouraged to attend.

Bring a blanket or a beach chair and join us for a night of Shakespeare under the sky!

(In case of cancellation due to inclement weather, a notice will be posted on the website.)
