Huffington Post has just launched a new major video series entitled #TalkToMe, meant to spark meaningful conversations between individuals. In this post, Huffington Post blogger Rachel Wolfson features her mentor, Mylea Charvat, CEO and Founder of Savonix. By way of introducing the video, Wolfson writes that, when confronted with uncertainty and confusion in her own life, she has learned the importance of having a strong mentor. While attending the Clinton Global Initiative University for the first time, Clinton Foundation president Donna Shalala found herself inspired by the global concerns of the young attendees. She writes: "They are doing things like earning money while distributing solar lights in remote towns in Nicaragua, providing zero-interest loans to low-income fish farmers in Nepal and building apps for LGBTQ asylum seekers in the United States. We’re in the midst of a social entrepreneurship boom that’s being led by millennials, many of whom have yet to graduate." But she also stresses that students can’t go it alone and that colleges and universities have both an opportunity and responsibility to help prepare young people for the reality of "starting up." In this inspiring article, we learn about a new survivor-to-survivor peer mentorship program out of Ontario, launched to help victims of sexual assault become resilient survivors and thrivers. “The (program) is a thoughtful approach to helping women as they work through a traumatic period.
