Spiritual Accompaniment Directory Pilot
Still Harbor is excited to launch it’s Spiritual Accompaniment Directory Pilot program!
Organized and facilitated by Nathan Bakken MDiv, this program will be an opportunity for both Still Harbor alumni and kindred spirits to advertize their spiritual accompaniment practices on our website in a directory format, while also serving as an opportunity for connection for spiritual care providers to connect, reflect, and discuss themes and issues around spiritual accompaniment and liberation.
Applications are open from 10/7/2021 to 11/1/2022
The first cohort meeting will be Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 4:00 PST/7:00 EST.
Goal
The goal of this program is twofold:
to celebrate, advertise, and connect our network of Still Harbor trained spiritual accompaniers/directors (and other spiritual directors who share Still Harbor's dream of a liberated and spiritually nourished world) with people in need of spiritual care and accompaniment.
to connect, collaborate, and deepen discussion on what it means to spiritually accompany liberation and social transformation, and what it means to participate in politicized healing.
Format
Spiritual Accompaniment Directory Pilot program is informed by adrienne maree brown’s Emergent Strategy and the transformative justice movement; meaning the program ultimately will be transformed by the participants. As it exists right now the program format is below, though it is subject to change:
The cohort of 10 spiritual accompaniers/directors seeking to further devleop their accompaniment practice and build connection with fellow spiritual direcotrs.
Still Harbor will advertize each cohort participant’s practice, offerings, and websites on the Still Harbor Website and social media.
The program is an 8 month commitment from November 2021 - June 2022. Consisting of one hour long monthly Zoom meetings. Wherein, the cohort will particpate in facilitated discussion, grounding exercises, and reflect on various themes relating to the work of spiritual accompaniment, liberation, and politicized healing.
In June, we will assess the impact this pilot program had on the cohort participant’s professional practice (ex. increased number of clients) as well as particpant’s personal development (ex. deepened understanding of why we accompaniy liberation).
